Dinosaur Jones blog #3: 6th March 2021.


Rolling on toward April, we are moving towards actually meeting up as 3 friends in person again. We are so very much looking forward to this.

How have you all been holding up this lockdown, or even over the last year?


But there's the spring arriving and limited meeting of friends next week.  Things are easing up, slowly. I trust that we might all get through this as best we can.



We have, as previously mentioned, been busy with our working at home still. I personally have been busy with my guitar practice when I can.

Nick has been busy, too, with his songwriting. Below is a link to his Bandcamp page and in particular, his latest offering, And I See It Now. This demo takes me back to the early 00's Bournemouth live scene of lo-fi indie offerings. With this in mind, who knows what may evolve on our future recordings. The scope is from Hank  to Hendrix and beyond.

So, to conclude, we are still looking forward to hearing a date for our debut gig in the summer. We are overwhelmed with potential material and need to get through tying some of this down, somehow.  Enough to say that we are expecting a landmark performance on our soonest opportunity.  It's been a long time coming. 


So keep on keeping on.. we'll be posting updates as to where we are up to, etc.

This month saw The Dinosaur Jones and Skaema perform at The Four Horsemen in Bournemouth Triangle once again. D.J. Hi Ho finalised the proceedings while celebrating his Birthday in a grand style!! Thank you to Hi Ho, Skaema and of course, all of you beautiful people who came and made the night what it was...... and it was awsome! So, what have we got coming up for you in October? Dinosaur Jones blog #1: February 2021.

First of all, welcome to this, our first blog for the band. It's been a busy month for us, despite the lockdown. We have been on the wireless with interviews, courtesy of Matt Black of Hangover Hill and receiving airplay for the title track of our EP, Honey as well as She's My Girl, which was released for Valentine's Day. This may lead us to our bloopers department, with this clip from 'When things go wrong' section.  She's My Girl goes wrong!!  In session 2020 at Blue Line Studios, Bournemouth.  It is a notable #jonesfact that Dinosaur Jones, being a 3 piece, has no bass player. We consist of Paul Williams on drums and Nick Wellstead and Ian Lory playing guitar. This is even more of a point of interest due to the fact that both Nick and Ian played bass in their previous incarnations.  Nick's guitar set up, again an interesting fact, is made up with a guitar that uses only 4 strings.
